If only I'd been brilliant enough & had "extra-money" (as if there is such a thing with a large family & 1 income!) to invest in Amazon stock & make 1.8 billion in 2 days like what's his face. Ug. The problem as of late is that the Tooth-Fairy practically lives here! Sure, she doesn't take up much room & she doesn't raid the fridge but her spending is getting out of control. If only I could super-glue baby teeth into the boys' mouths!! My 7 yr old brushed his teeth so hard yesterday he brushed a tooth clean out! He had to find it on the bathroom floor! Between him & the 6 yr old we are quite behind on bills again this month.
A few days ago I was up at my 2:30AM, which has become more normal than not. I was not able to slip back into bed so I took a shower instead. Waking early & luxuriating in a long, hot shower without worry of others needing in the bathroom & so on was heavenly. My husband had recently installed a very up-scale, rain-like shower head & it felt SO good. The thought of little fingers wiggling under the bathroom door & knocking & little-guy chatter momentarily filled my head as a happy MEMORY & not a reality! I reached for shampoo & poured a dab in my hand, being THIS-CLOSE to slapping it on my pity-sad, wet head before stopping. You see, the draw back to bleary eyed showers is that, even with 1 cup of coffee under my belt, I had grabbed "lily of the valley" body wash, which I might add, is way too similar in color & bottle size to the "ocean breeze" Suave shampoo. Barely caught that one in time, not that it would probably matter with my baby-fine, do-nothing hair, but still, a victory - "Woo & Hoo".
I keep wondering why my 7 yr old is throwing up at school & fine at home. Is he coughing so much he is getting sick or is it a stomach virus? Being allergic to grasses, juniper & dust is not a good combination in Spring. Or is it stress, or a convenient way to come home & be a vegetable, until brothers get here then go out & play??? I just don't know.
If you are having a hard time following a theme to today's blog, stop trying, there isn't one. I'm just rambling & I forewarned you that I do so. Today is case in point. So, on with the odds & ends of trivia ala me & my life!
My niece, who is moving in with us June 1st, along with her fiance, wrote me an e-mail offering to take care of the yard while here. She has seen snow once & it melted minutes after hitting the ground. Her fiance, has not seen it at all. By the way there is a light skiff of the white stuff this morning! She asked how to take care of the lawn in the winter with snow. Her NW-naivety is so quaint & charming. I was tempted to reply with step by step instructions about how to carefully shovel the snow off the lawn, take a blow dryer to the area needing trimmed then get out the mower or weed-eater but I showed mercy instead. I must not have been awake enough, it isn't like me to pass up golden opportunities like that! She also asked if it would be alright to bring 2 cacti she's grown since seedling, she named them Bob & Joe. I can tell, having the 4 of them here is going to bring great writing material to birth.
Well, I'm over due for some more coffee so this is all of today's zig-zagged mind wanderings. Have a glorious weekend. Oh, by the way, I would like to state that I've heard but not been able to confirm on www.snopes.com that May 4th Dutch Brothers will be donating some coffee sale proceeds to MDA. While I do not know if it is true, it is worth checking on & supporting a very worthy cause while getting our daily fix. Be Blessed Dear Readers.
